Five Days Away

It's heard to believe that it's only five days away! I have so many mixed emotions. I am so excited, but I will miss you all so much! Thank you for all of your support and prayers - I am so blessed!

My flight leaves this Thursday, January 4th, at 2:40 P.M. On Wednesday, after mom and Maggie get off work, the three of us are heading to Kansas City to spend an evening together and we will stay at a hotel near the airport. My dad will be meeting us at the airport around noon on Thursday. I will be traveling with Destiny Stanley, who lives in Lees Summit. She is going to Cape Town and will be in the same program as me, but she will be working with the children's ministry at Jubilee Community Church. Mom and I went up to Kansas City a couple of weeks ago and had dinner with her, Tommy and Stephanie Stanley (Destiny's parents), Baker and Becca Haasis and Gabe and Christi Hodill. It was a wonderful evening and I'm excited to have Destiny to travel with and to already have a friend in Cape Town. :)

So, back to our flight info... we leave Kansas City at 2:40 P.M. on Thursday and head first to Chicago, where we have a short lay-over. We then have an eight-hour flight to London and a 12-hour lay-over there before getting on a 12-hour flight to Cape Town. Stephen van Rhyn will be picking us up from the airport on 10:40 A.M. Saturday morning, January 6th (Cape Town time, i.e., about 2:40 A.M. Columbia time). Some of you may know Stephen, who spent two years at Christian Fellowship Church quite some time ago. He is the head pastor of Jubilee Community Church, which will be my home church while I'm in Cape Town.

Please pray for safety in travel and a quick adjustment to their time zone. Love you all and appreciate you so much!!! I would not be able to do this without your love and support!
